How does moving make you feel?

A couple are packing up their household. the moving van is visible at the curb; it's filled with boxes and things wrapped in quilts. inside, stacks of boxes fill the room, a cat is hiding on a shelf and another cat and dog are getting in the way. One person dances around the room waving a chiffon scarf, and says, "moving makes me feel so light and free!" The other person kneels on the floor scowling, rolling up a carpet, and says, "not me."

You Are Marching: MLK, Trekkie

Frame 1: we see a drawing of MLK at about 10, in his best sunday suit and tie, giving the vulcan salute and smiling. “You are marching,” Martin Luther King Jr., Trekkie. Frame 2: a picture of the Starship Enterprise flying through the deep space “one of MLK’s contributions to civil rights began with his love of star trek. Frame 3: Two little children watching a 1960’s era television on which Mr. Spock can be seen. “it was the only TV show he allowed his children to stay up and watch.” Fram 4: a picture of a beautiful young black woman in a Star Trek uniform busy at the communications console of a spaceship. “One day, at an NAACP fundraiser, he met Nichelle Nichols, who played Lieutenant Commander Uhura.” Fram 5: We see King and Uhura at a gala ball, chatting together. “Ms Nichols had just that week decided to leave the show. MLK advised her not to. “You are marching,” he said.” Frame 6: We see a little Whoopi Goldberg, only 9 years old, running happily in her living room, shouting “Come quick! Come quick! There’s a black lady on TV and she ain’t no maid!”. “so she stayed...and was an inspiration for generations to come. “ Frame 7: A scene of the bridge on the starship, with 9 women in uniforms sitting and standing. “as Captain Kirk said, and all the other captains would agree, There is no room for bigotry on the bridge.” there are many other women captains in Star Trek - i just didn’t have enough room. How Not To Wear A Mask

“Freedom of Expression” 2017!

 Gentoons is participating in the International  “Freedom of Expression” exhibition sponsored by The Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery and tOOns MaG /Arifur Rahman.




Exhibitions:
1. The Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery (Avistegnernes Hus), 22nd of April at 14:00 till 21st of May 2017.
Per Edgard Kokkvold, Writer, and Chairman of the Norwegian Broadcasting Council. Former newspaper editor, secretary general of the Norwegian Press Association and leader of the Press Complaints Commission will be inaugurating the exhibition at 14.00 PM on 22nd April.

2. The Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer at Elephant Kunsthall, 31st of May at 15:00 till 4th of June 2017.
Moddi Knutsen, Norwegian musician will be inaugurating the exhibition and Roar Hagen, Norwegian political cartoonist will be announcing the name of award winner cartoonists at 15:00 PM on 31st May.

3. Indian institute of cartoonists, Bangalore, India, 29th April to 20th May 2017. 
Dr. Sathyabhama Badhreenath, Director of National Gallery of Modern Art will be inaugurating the exhibition at 11.30 AM on 29th April.

4. Kýchanie mozgu - Brain Sneezing, Prešov, Slovakia
