Toonsup.com is the home of many talented artists. In addition to each artist featuring their own cartoons, often collaborations pop up like pinballs, bouncing off of our goofy discussions. Guaranteed we all feature in each other's drawings at some point. (in my own "Noble Failure: the 24-Hour Cake, the frosting decorations are all other cartoonists in Toonsup).
A major recent project by Klaus "PAM" is the stellar action-packed "Lawnmower Race" about a tooth-and-nail competition between a diesel-powered gas-guzzling lawn tractor and a solar-powered ecologically friendly lawnmower, with help and interference by an uzi-wielding Sun Goddess, a madman with a pushmower trying to catch a crafty cat, and a couple of TV commentators trying desperately to narrate it all coherently.
Now PAM has teamed up with Sasin and ArmerArmin, on a comic adventure called "Harriet" which begins: "When the world was still young, the first dragon was a Queen named Mim. She protected her people with love and care, and all lived in peace and harmony. Until one day a dark cloud appeared..."
the story features biplanes, bazaars, wild and mythological animals, treachery, adventure, mystery, and not a little of the supernatural.
The cover page shows at least seven of the artists from toonsup, rendered as characters:
Also: mysterious parcels, mysterious explosions, talking gorillas, flying carpets, and a cohesive fun storyline!
Beautifully rendered machinery by PAM, from Goldbergeque race tracks to antique cars:
Great perspective along and action sequences like this biplane which features food bowls and scratching posts for the lion and tiger:
And here's the plane coming in for a landing in the bustling marketplace. Fun for anyone to read, and lots of inside jokes and recognizable "extras" for the toonsup regulars:
(I was tickled to see ArmerArmin drew me as a clairvoyant who consults a magical cake to help the adventurers find answers. )
